Homepage tweaks

A simplified version of the forum index was added to the homepage for logged in members, along with how many unread topics the member has in each forum, linked to show them.

I liked how it came out so much that I decided to use pretty much the same page for logged out users, completely replacing the splash page that pretty much was just a sign up form.

What do you think? I’m probably going to tweak it some more tomorrow.

That sounds like a great usability improvement! Adding a simplified forum index to the homepage for logged-in members, along with unread topic counts, makes navigation much more intuitive. It gives users an immediate snapshot of forum activity and encourages engagement by showing them exactly where new discussions are happening.

Replacing the splash page with a more interactive, content-rich homepage for guests is also a smart move. A static sign-up page can feel like a barrier, while showcasing real forum discussions gives potential members a reason to explore and sign up.

At Forum-Promotion.NET, the Best Webmaster, Admin, & Internet Marketing Forum, we always discuss ways to boost user experience and increase engagement, and this definitely sounds like a step in the right direction.

Are you planning any additional tweaks to improve user retention or streamline the onboarding process? ??
