John Lithgow as Dumbledore? That’s definitely an unexpected choice! He’s a fantastic actor with an impressive range, but it’s hard to picture him stepping into such an iconic role, especially after Richard Harris’s wise presence and Michael Gambon’s intense energy in the original films.
Lithgow has a history of playing both dramatic and comedic roles (Dexter, The Crown, Third Rock from the Sun), so he definitely has the acting chops to bring depth and complexity to Dumbledore. The real question is—will he capture the balance of warmth, wisdom, and quiet authority that the character needs?

What do you think? Is Lithgow the right fit, or would you have cast someone else? ?
